3.6 Reception Conditions Directive Directive 2013/33/EU (recast) laying down standards for the reception of applicants for international protection, imposes standards of treatment during the asylum process, including during the Dublin procedures. Main aim:  Applicants for international protection waiting for a decision on their application must be provided with certain necessities that guarantee them an adequate standard of living.  It ensures that applicants have access to housing, food, clothing, health care, education for minors, and access to employment under certain conditions.  the Directive also provides particular attention to vulnerable persons, especially unaccompanied minors and victims of torture. Member States must, inter alia, conduct an individual assessment in order to identify the special reception needs of vulnerable persons and to ensure that vulnerable asylum seekers can access medical and psychological support.  It also includes rules regarding detention of asylum seekers, ensuring that their fundamental rights are fully respected.  Harmonisation of conditions for the reception of applicants should help to limit the secondary movements of applicants influenced by the variety of conditions for their reception.
