Abstract: In multicultural states, such as Montenegro, human rights protection is mostly related to the respect of diversity and minority rights protection. Respect of ethnic, national, cultural and other diversity is an essential principle of human rights protection in the age of multiculturalism. It is stipulated in various forms, such as the following: as an obligation not to discriminate against minorities, as respect for right to preservation of the minority identity, as well as the prohibition of assimilation. Additionally, it is supported by stipulating the measures of affirmative action. International legal instruments, as well as most national legislation of modern democratic states, stipulate protection of respect of diversity, as it is a parameter of democracy of each modern society. This article aims to present the relationship between human rights and multiculturalism in general, with special emphasis on Montenegrin legislation and practice concerning protection of right to diversity and minority rights. Resumé: V multikulturních státech, jakým je Černá Hora, je ochrana lidských práv především závislá na respektování různorodosti a ochraně práv menšin. Úcta k etnické, národnostní, kulturní a jiné rozmanitosti je základní princip ochrany lidských práv ve věku multikulturalismu. To je stanoveno v různých formách, jako například: jako povinnost nediskriminovat menšiny, a to s ohledem na právo na za chování jejich menšinové identity, stejně jako zákaz asimilace. Kromě toho je tento cíl podporován tím, že se stanoví opatření pozitivní diskriminace. Mezinárodně právní nástroje, stejně jako je to ve většině vnitrostátních právních předpisů mo derních demokratických států, je stanovena ochrana rozmanitost, jako parametr demokracie moderní společnosti. Tento článek si klade za cíl představit vztah mezi lidskými právy a multikulturalismem obecně, se zvláštním důrazem na právní před pisy a praxi Černé Hory týkající se ochrany práva na rozmanitost a práva menšin.
