CYIL 10 ȍ2019Ȏ MIESTO A VÝZNAM REGIONÁLNYCH SÚDNYCH ORGÁNOV V KONTEXTE … international judicial authorities (Chapter 2.1 in which prof. Jánošíková discusses the locus standi issue of an individual before international courts in a very wide and deep comparative paper); with the approach of international courts to the key requirement of protection of right to a fair trial (Chapter 2.2 authored by Dr. Kubala); with the quality of interaction between national authorities and international courts in the form of preliminary questions and advisory opinions (Chapter 3, authored by Dr. Benko); as well as with the international courts’ response to crisis issues, in particular the enforcement of rule of law (Chapter 1. authored by Dr. Elbert). The announced book analyses all the problems outlined above in a wide and comprehensive manner and has a good potential to shift the level of knowledge in the particular matters. At the same time, the original content of the book opens and offers a deeper discussion and thus has the potential to develop a discourse on the role of regional judicial authorities. An important qualitative element of the work - that I have to highlight - is the comparative width of the individual chapters. The authors deal with particular issues in connection with international judicial bodies in all key regions (Europe, Africa, America, and Asia). The book thus brings a very rich spectrum of information and helps to understand the issue in a global context. In this regard, I also appreciate the authors’ intention to make the book available as a free e-publication. 2 It is desirable that such valuable research outcome is available to the widest possible audience and can positively influence the level of knowledge as well as initiate further research.
