SURVEY OF CZECH INTERNATIONAL LAW BIBLIOGRAPHY
Survey of Czech International Law Bibliography
The Survey covers Czech books, articles, chapters, and conference proceedings dealing with international law and texts of Czech authors published abroad, that were published during 2020 and the first half of 2021. It also includes selected texts focused on private international law, European law, and Czech constitutional law, that all reflect international law aspects. When we look at authors of listed publications and their affiliation, we can see mostly teachers of Czech universities. Universities in Prague, Brno, and Olomouc hold the reins of publication activities in international law field and are signed under many collective monographs and journals available in Czech Republic. Besides universities, the Czech Society of International Law – the publisher of the Czech Yearbook of Public and Private International Law and other collective works and the Institute of State and Law of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague – which monthly publishes the journal Právník (Lawyer), offer attractive publishing opportunities for Czechs and Czech Republic based authors. In conformity with the findings presented in the introduction to this survey in recent years, we can observe the following three trends: the share of texts written in English is still growing; also, the number of contributions of Czech authors published in foreign journals and books is increasing; new online publication opportunities have appeared, and many of the works contained on the list below are available online in open access regimes. Concerning the thematic focus of the Czech authors, international law of human rights is in the limelight (as well as in previous years). Other strong topics represent the settlement of disputes including investment disputes and a wider range of international investment law. Translations in brackets were not authorized; however, in most cases they were taken from databases of publishing activities maintained by particular universities and research institutions in the Czech Republic.
