However, it cannot be overstressed that the modern European integration is not about grading and scoring, it is about identifying and following a model selected by an educated discussion of all stakeholders, 34 i.e. it is about honesty, consistency, responsibility and an open-minded bottom up approach. The UCPD means well, and Europe 2020 says well - well functioning, preferably fair, and well- structured competition and competitive economy are critical for the future of the EU and EU law, for their smart, sustainable and inclusive growth. The internal pro-integration tandem, the Commission and CJ EU, know this very well and they should have the courage to go for it without getting distracted by other objectives, even if they seem alluring.
