Second, up to three other topics may reach the adoption of draft conclusions, guidelines or articles on first reading, i.e. Protection of the atmosphere, Provisional application of treaties, and Immunities of State officials from foreign criminal jurisdiction. Third, the Special Rapporteurs for other topics will also, most likely, submit their reports. That is why the proposal of the ILC was adopted to have up to 11 weeks allocated for its session in 2018. It will be the second, not the last year of this quinquennium, but the Commission will seek to finalize as many topics as possible. Sufficient time should also be reserved for meetings of the Working Group on the Long-term programme of work in order to revise and complete the list of possible new topics. Last but not least, the Commission will commemorate its 70 th anniversary which will give rise to one event in New York during the first part of its session (May 2018) and one conference in Geneva during the second part (July 2018). To sum up, it seems that the Commission awaits a very busy programme in the next year.
