2.4 New Passenger Car Registrations by Manufacturer in the EU Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the Volkswagen Group has maintained its strong position in new car registrations, accounting for a quarter of all car sales in the EU27 in 2021 and 2022, i.e., almost 2.5 million cars, followed by the Stellantis Group (former PSA Group linked to Fiat) with a fifth share, and the Renault Group (10.6%).
