3.2.1 Adhesive bonding After surface cleaning and pre-treatment, the test specimen were fabricated using an adhesive thickness of 200 μm. After mechanical testing (test speed: 1 mm/min) the fractured surfaces were analysed. A joint strength of approx. 5 N/mm² was reached (Figure 5). It has been clearly demonstrated that the adhesion between PLA and the adhesive limits the shear strength of the joint. There was no influence of the metal surface pre-treatment observed.
