According to the authors, the lack of positive results in the previous studies is due to several factors. First, only structural variables were selected as variables in the cluster analysis. Variables characterizing the results of economic activity of enterprises were used either only to interpret the results or were not used at all. Secondly, the initial information was obtained by questioning the managers of the studied companies. So the number of organizations in the samples was relatively small and in different studies did not exceed 160 companies. In addition, the qualitative variables chosen by researchers to identify patterns of organizational development could be interpreted by respondents in completely different ways. Thirdly, the sample included companies from various sectors of the economy, which, with a relatively small sample, only intensified industry differences. As part of the research, the authors previously worked out a model for the development of the production structure of industrial enterprises in accordance with the hypothesis and then they attempted to prove it. The methodology of the study included the following steps: 1. obtaining information about the studied enterprises using the Albertina Gold Edition database (Enterprises with NACE codes 29310 and 29320 for the main activity were selected from the Albertina Gold Edition database); 2. the allocation of two groups of variables, – variables characterizing the structure of enterprises and variables characterizing the results of their business activities; 3. conducting cluster analysis by the Word method; 4. comparison of the results with the proposed theoretical model for the development of the organizational structure of industrial enterprises. To confirm the theoretical model of production structure evolution the authors used cluster analysis conducted using the IBM SPSS program. The source data was obtained from the Albertina Gold Edition database. For the study, 222 enterprises for the production of electrical equipment, electronic equipment, as well as other products and equipment for motor vehicles (NACE codes 29310 and 29320) of the Czech Republic were selected according to the results of their economic activities for the 2016 calendar year (from 01. 01. 2016 to 31. 12. 2016). The choice of the year was due to the completeness of the information. Financial indicators were calculated in the source currency – Czech crowns – CZK. 3. Problem Solution While forming a theoretical model for the development of the production structure of industrial enterprises, the authors proceeded from the assumption that in the process of the developing of industrial enterprises and improving their operational activities in a certain period of time, the boundary of existing technological limitations is reached, which determines the limit for productivity growth. This understanding relies heavily on models of sustainable enterprise growth (Van Horne, 2008). Having reached the growth boundary, the enterprise management needs to transform it in order to ensure the further growth of the enterprise.
