e Czech Republic has a long-term de cit in the balance of foreign trade in motor vehicles for the transport of goods and for special purposes. In 2023, the Czech Republic imported goods and special vehicles worth less than CZK 30 billion and exported vehicles worth CZK 11 billion. On the other hand, in the category of passenger motor vehicles for public transport (buses), the Czech foreign trade balance is positive. In 2023, the Czech Republic exported buses worth CZK 23 billion and imported vehicles worth CZK 3.6 billion. e second most important category of foreign trade within the automotive industry is the export of parts and accessories for motor vehicles. is reached CZK 383 billion in 2023, representing 34% of the total automotive exports from the Czech Republic. e value of imports of parts and accessories in 2023 was CZK 284 billion. e relatively high level of imports of parts and accessories to the Czech Republic compared to its exports shows that the import intensity of the Czech automotive industry is relatively high.
