With the logistics ecobalance (see Figure 5.13), the total benefits of the whole life cycle of the product can be determined and different products can be compared according to this information. The results of two similar alternatives can be different in different analyses because of the differences for example in business environment or volumes. The logistics ecobalance examines different products mainly based on the

meaningfulness of the whole value chain instead of chemical criteria. So the evaluating criteria are connected with the practicality of the product and its raw material in purchasing, production, distribution and recycling. The renewability of the raw material – the renewability has significance to the supply, price level and all-inclusive environmental effects of the raw material. It is usually more motivational to use recycle exhaustible than inexhaustible materials.
