In particular, we wanted to point out the forming relationship of European cooperation in mutual recognition of foreign decisions and human rights protection requirements enshrined in the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms. As the recent case-law shows, the fact that the State implements obligations under EU law does not completely relieve it of its obligation to verify if the rights guaranteed by the European Convention have been safeguarded.
