CYIL vol. 10 (2019)

VERONIKA BÍLKOVÁ CYIL 10 ȍ2019Ȏ in the 2017 volume of this yearbook with two contributions stemming from the project mentioned above, is worth mentioning. 1 Other academic publications include monographs or book chapters on topical issues of international law 2 and articles in leading Czech and international journals. 3 Policy oriented analyses mostly take the form of IIR Reflections, Policy Papers, or Policy Briefs. 4 The CIL researchers also comment on the international law aspects of important international events in the press, on the radio, and on TV. 5 Finally, the CIL organizes, usually on a monthly basis, public events pertaining to topical issues of international law. For instance, in the first half of 2019, it held events on China and the Universality of Human Rights (in cooperation with the IIR Centre for EU-Asia Relations), International Law and the Political Crisis in Venezuela, the Israeli Nationality Law, the Istanbul Convention (in cooperation with the Anglo-American University), and the Global Compacts on Migration and on Refugees. In addition to the members of the CIL and other IIR researchers, these events have featured leading international and Czech experts in international law and international relations. The IIR Centre for International Law, although established only three years ago, has already gained an important place among institutions producing research in international law in the Czech Republic. Its ambition is to maintain, and further enhance, this position, becoming one of the pivotal hubs for high quality research and for the exchange of views on international law in the region and beyond it.
