Czech legislation on spatial planning, its background, objectives, roles and possibilities, or construction law yesterday, today, tomorrow and the day after Abstract: In his contribution, the author discusses the place, role and objectives of spatial planning and how they should be reflected and regulated in law. In particular, he tries to describe and evaluate the background, principles and limits of the legal regulation of construction law. He projects into the text not only his theoretical and pedagogical knowledge and experience, but also, to some extent, his subjective feelings he had with the three Czech building laws, from 1976, 2006 and 2021, which he has had the opportunity to get to know so far during his legal career. He then adds to them a hypothetical fourth category, i.e. a completely new and as yet unwritten building law. His paper thus seeks to provoke a polemical discussion of this whole legal issue of construction law in relation to environmental protection.
