Professor David opened a legal office and provided legal counseling. He specialized in civil and commercial law, although he represented clients even before the European Court of Human Rights. He was successful in high-profile disputes, such as the case of Regina Rázlová. In 1997, he accepted an offer to be a full-time lecturer of Public International Law at the Law Faculty of Palacký University in Olomouc. This step, as Professor David says, marked one of his best life decisions. Professor David holds the position even at this time. In 2007, as a testimony to his significant contribution to Czech legal science and its development, Professor David was awarded a doctor honoris causa degree at Palacký University in Olomouc. He also cooperates externally with the Law Faculty in Brno, where he reviews diploma, advanced and dissertation theses. In his work, Professor David specialized in legal consequences of international wrongful acts (responsibility and sanctions) and history of public international law. The latest titles focus on socially important phenomena such as international terrorism and corruption: ‘Phenomenon of International Terrorism’ ( Fenomén mezinárodního terorismu ) and ‘Corruption in International, European and Czech Law’ ( Korupce v právu mezinárodním, evropském a českém ).
