Human Rights Cinema A traditional pillar of the Prague Student Summit is the screening of films on human rights issues. Following every screening, a discussion during which the delegates can debate with an expert on the particular issue, follows. This year, the projections were held in cooperation with the “Promítej i ty” project by People in Need organisation (Člověk v tísni). Radio Free Europe The delegates were also given the opportunity to visit the most heavily guarded place in Europe – Radio Free Europe / Radio Liberty. They attended a discussion with Akbar Ayzi, who is a regional Director of Operations of the Radio in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran and Iraq. Doctors Without Borders Among other events that young delegates of the 17 th year of the Prague Student Summit attended was a visit to the Prague office of Doctors Without Borders. A discussion with the Director of the Czech branch of the organization, Richard Walker, touched upon the structure and functioning of the organisation as well as its foreign missions. Transparency International A visit to Transparency International in the autumn provided the delegates with a unique insight into the issues of corruption and organised crime. The delegates talked to the Director of the organisation, David Ondráčka. Embassy programme Just before the Conference, many national delegations of the Prague Student Summit had the opportunity to meet face to face with real diplomats of their countries in Prague. Dozens of embassies in the Czech Republic welcomed the delegates and held discussions on topics related to the Prague Student Summit’s agenda. Knowledge gained during the visits was put in use during the deliberations at the Conference. Meeting in the United Nations Information Centre Prague For delegates of countries whose embassies are not present in the Czech Republic, an equally interesting programme was prepared. They met Dr. Věra Jeřábková, the Director of the Diplomatic Academy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who provided the students with an insight into the real world of diplomacy. Moreover, at the American Centre of the U.S. Embassy in Prague, another group of delegates discussed the future of diplomacy with Mr. Tomáš
