ROMANOVA CYIL 11 (2020) exploration and development of uranium deposits, production and use of radioisotope products for medical, industrial, agricultural application, etc. Some intergovernmental treaties are dedicated to specific projects, including the design, construction and operation of nuclear power plants, the construction of centers of nuclear science and technology. In the year 2017 alone, the participation of the Government of the Russian Federation has led to conclusion of more than 10 intergovernmental treaties, including with the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Government of the Republic of Paraguay, the Government of the Republic of Zambia, the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia, etc. Here, the intergovernmental treaty between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Paraguay 9 covers the cooperation in areas of design and construction of energy and research nuclear reactors, exploration and development of uranium deposits, radioactive waste management, nuclear and radiation safety, production and use of radioisotopes for medical, industrial, agricultural application; the use of nuclear technology for medical and other peaceful purposes, the conduct of fundamental and applied research in the field of the nuclear energy use for peaceful purposes, the education, training and retraining of specialists for the nuclear industry, etc. A more precise direction of cooperation is provided for by an intergovernmental treaty between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of Zambia. The cooperation of the parties concerns the design, construction, operation and decommissioning of the Center for Nuclear Science and Technology in the Republic of Zambia. 10 Intergovernmental treaty of September 19, 2017, between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan 11 aims at expanding cooperation in research and development in the nuclear energy sector. Since 2017 the involvement of the Russian Federation has resulted in a significant number of international treaties at inter-agency level 12 . According to Clause 4, Article 9 of Federal Law No. 101- ФЗ dated July 15, 1995, “On International Treaties of the Russian Federation”, proposals on the conclusion of international treaties of the Russian Federation at interdepartmental level are submitted to the Government of the Russian Federation by federal executive bodies or authorized organizations within their competencies, collectively or in agreement with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. Information on international treaties concluded by the Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service of Russia (Rostekhnadzor) is provided on the official website of the service 13 .
