HUMAN RIGHTS IN THE EUROPEAN CONSTITUTIONAL ORDER

Reading an edited book of students' essays is always hit or miss. You are either pleasantly surprised by the high level of erudition of student authors, the innovation of their approaches and the daring nature of their ideas, or you are disappointed by the low quality of crafts manship and the students' aim to imitate the work and ideas of their mentors. The edited book Human Rights in the European Consti tutional Order is, without a doubt, the prime example of the former. The book presents ten individual human rights issues and puts them into the perspective of European integra tion, arguing that human rights protection is an essential part of European constitutionalism.
