As it can be seen from table 6, the results of cluster analysis, in general, showed a coincidence with the proposed theoretical model for the development of production structure of industrial enterprises. However, the results of the cluster analysis revealed a number of problems requiring additional research. It primarily concerns enterprises located in clusters 1-4. So, among enterprises belonging to clusters 1 and 2, there is a small number of enterprises with more than one structural unit. Similarly, among enterprises belonging to clusters 3 and 4, there is a small number of enterprises with one structural unit. One of the reasons, according to the authors, may be is that enterprises related to two types of activity (enterprises producing electrical equipment and electronic equipment for motor vehicles – NACE code 29310 and enterprises manufacturing other products and equipment – code 29320) and accordingly having their own characteristics of organization of the production process were chosen as an object of analysis. However, the choice of enterprises related to only one of the two types of activities would lead to a significant reduction in the sample size and consequently to inability of correct cluster analysis. As for enterprises belonging to the upper levels of development, in the future it seems interesting to the authors to carry out similar calculations for enterprises of several countries connected in global industrial chains. Unfortunately, Albertina Gold Edition database does not provide such opportunity.
