For sustainability assessment with life cycle approach can be used Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment (LCSA) method, which stands for the combination of LCA, Life Cycle Costing (LCC) and Social Life Cycle Assessment (SLCA) (Finkbeiner et al., 2010, Kloepffer, 2008) (Figure 2) (Grubert, 2017, Onat et al., 2016), towards a holistic sustainability assessment. The LCA is the most mature technique and consider the environmental dimension while LCC and SLCA are concerned in the evaluation of the costs and the social aspects, respectively. LCSA is mentioned as a method that provides support to the decision-making process towards more sustainable life cycle system based on the integration of the three dimensions assessed by the LCC, LCA and SLCA methods. Integrated of LCA and LCC to minimize the environmental influence associated with the life cycle of vehicles and minimize the costs over the life cycle of vehicles was shown by Shama et al., (2015).

Source: own elaboration. LCSA includes: the goal and scope definition, the inventory analysis, the impact assessment and the interpretation (Figure 2). The goal and scope definition phase provide a description of the system, functional unit and the system boundary. Life Cycle Inventor (LCI) phase involves data collection of each dimension and the selection of the indicators. The selection of indicators is important for a suitable integration of the three sustainable dimensions of LCSA for automotive industry. The LCA and LCC analysis are usually quantitative, but most SLCA studies are qualitative. There are some applications of LCSA in automotive industry, including electric vehicles, in literature (Gemechu et al., 2017; Onat et al., 2016) and fuel cell (Mehmeti et al., 2016). The article presents the role of LCA for support decision-making in the automotive industry and overview of methods with life cycle approach for sustainable development, which can be used in automotive industry with regard to analysis of environmental, economic and social dimensions. 2. A proposed framework for LCSA assessment in automotive industry The proposed framework of Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) using for sustainability assessment was presented (Figure 3).
