paper proposes broadening Life Cycle Assessment for the sustainability analysis and proposes to use LCA for support decision making in the automotive industry. LCA can be a tool for comparative analysis of alternative fuels and different transport means. In this paper the framework was proposed on the example of life cycle of alternative fuels in transport.

Source: own elaboration. The scope of the first stage is identification and characteristics of analyzed parameters and definition of assumptions and limitations. In this case study the analysis concerns various alternative fuels used in transport. The first stage involves determining of fuels variants and selection of criteria for the evaluation variants. The second stage consists of eco-efficiency analysis for automotive industry. This stage includes defining the system boundary, the functional unit, the allocations to external systems, the economics evaluation methods, the environmental assessment
