Z LEGISLATIVNÍHO PROCESU
IMPLEMENTATION OF EU REGULATIONS IN THE FIELD OF INVASIVE ALIEN SPECIES AS AN OPPORTUNITY TO ELIMINATE UNCOMFORTABLE SECTIONS OF THE NATURE AND LANDSCAPE PROTECTION ACT Summary The government bill amending certain laws in connection with the implementation of European Union regulations in the field of invasive alien species is aimed at creating a legislative framework in the field of invasive alien plant and animal species in connection with directly applicable EU regulations No. 1143/2014/EU. The proposed amendments mainly concern Act No. 114/1992 Coll., on Nature Conservation and Landscape Protection. This paper aimed to draw attention to some controversial and unrelated amendments tabled across the political parties represented in the Chamber of Deputies in the spring of 2021. The above-mentioned amendments must be rejected with reference to the conflict with European Union law and also with reference to their harmfulness for the protection of nature, landscape and biodiversity in the Czech Republic. These are probably purposefully submitted proposals, often motivated by interests unrelated to environmental protection.
Key words : nature conservation, landscape protection, EU law
